Anti-wrinkle injections involves injecting small amounts of Botulinum Toxin (BOTOX™) into the facial muscles. This smooths out and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by stopping the muscle from moving.

Therefore, your lines cannot get any deeper as the you are unable to repeatedly crease the skin. Anti-wrinkle treatments are now considered to have a preventative benefit and regular use can even help prevent permanent lines from forming.

Following a thorough consultation (including medical history and consent), Dr McCowan will prescribe the appropriate product for your needs. The area/s are cleansed and the product is injected under the surface of the skin.

Treatments usually work after 7-14 days and can last up to 3-6 months depending on the individual. The recommended treatment regime would be 2-3 times per year to ensure the best results for anti-ageing.

We advise only gentle cleaning of the face, using light pressure only for 24 hours. No makeup/creams for 24 hours, no strenuous exercise for 24 hours and no sun beds/saunas for 24 hours.
