They are chains of nucleotides (building blocks of our DNA), a natural substance found in the body. When injected into our skin they stimulate the production of elastin and collagen. 

Therefore, they help the skin regenerate itself and become more full and hydrated. This gives the skin its strength and bounce which helps with ageing, such as saggy skin or wrinkles. 

They are injected near the surface of the skin where they act on cells called fibroblasts. Fibroblasts make elastin and collagen and as we age they become less active. 

Polynucleotides cause fibroblasts to produce more elastin and collagen, resulting in firmer, more hydrated skin. They reduce wrinkles and also can reduce tissue damage and inflammation.
