Lip Fillers

These are the same as dermal fillers, however we inject into the lip. We use hyaluronic acid (a natural substance found in the body). Lip fillers are used to create your desired lips, whether that is to increase volume or sharpen/define lines such as the cupids bow. We aim for a natural/subtle enhancement however we can enhance the lip as much or as little as you lime. 

Following a thorough consultation (including medical history and consent), Dr McCowan will prescribe the appropriate products for your needs, including the option of local anaesthetic or dental block to completely numb the area. The area will then be cleansed and filler is injected into the lips. 

Your results will be seen immediately, however it may take a few days to settle completely. The effects if the treatment can last anywhere between 6-12 months, This depends on the product characteristics selected for you.

We advise no exercise 24hrs post procedure and no makeup 24 hr post procedure. Apart from this there is generally no downtime. If a few syringes are planned it is best to have nothing sociable planned for a few days as there is always a risk of swelling/bruising. Saunas and steam rooms should be avoided for 7 days.
